Ayer domingo 26 de enero se celebró Shimmy Wave 2014 en la sala madrileña Galileo Galilei, donde tuve el placer de ser una de las bailarinas invitadas. Una noche muy especial en un festival genial organizado por Dorisha y Jose Carreño.

En esta ocasión participaré como bailarina solista invitada de bharatanatyam, danza clásica india de Tamil Nadu.
Será un evento muy especial, pues además de celebrar el tercer aniversario de la Escuela de Dorisha, será un punto de encuentro de una diversidad de estilos y artes. Es todo un honor para mí compartir escenario con Dorisha, la compañía Al Rakasat, Lorelei Acosta, Nureen Martini, Aisha Ziva y las alumnas de Dorisha.

«Thodayam» at Khushi Festival (10/05/2013)
Aquí tenéis una parte de una de mis actuaciones con Sohinimoksha. «Thodayam» significa «primera canción», es un «pushpanjali» o una «ofrenda de flores con las manos juntas» a la divinidad, al gurú, a los músicos y al público, que sirve para abrir el repertorio de bharatanatyam y que las bailarinas calienten.
Espero que os guste aunque no podáis ver con detalle las expresiones faciales debido a la calidad de la grabación… 😉

Here you have a part of one of my performances with Sohinimoksha, «Thodayam» means «first song», a «pushpanjali» or «offering of flowers with folded hands» to the Divinity -the Lord of dance Nataraja-, the guru, the musicians and the audience. It is a classical piece of the bharatanatyam repertoires that opens the performance and is used to warm up.
Hope you like it even though you can’t appreciate the expressions in detail due to the recording quality… Enjoy 😉
